Program centered around three perspectives: a work representing art rejected by the Nazis (Entartete Musik).
The magnificent Serenade op. 24 by Arnold Schoenberg; rarely performed vocal works by composers who died in the camps, Viktor Ullmann and Pavel Haas; and a contemporary piece composed in homage to the victims of the Holocaust, "Où est la plaie?" by Brussels composer Adrien Tsilogiannis, with a poem by Eugène Guillevic.
The musical worlds are contrasting, yet all are highly expressive, combining modesty, lightness, pain, and existential questioning.
