SUR LE FIL - TEASER

As illustrated by this double album, Sturm und Klang embarks on a long journey with composers who are already widely recognized, stimulating projects, commissions, and the circulation in Belgium and abroad of a rich collection of works. Each Sturm und Klang concert is a celebration of living musical creation, each program proposed is a challenge that today testifies to the taste for risk, overcoming, and the audacity of its musicians, all within a time that primarily poses the simple fact of existing as a bet. "On the edge" is the fragile and tightrope-like position, essential in traversing our time, assumed by all the artists gathered here

For over twenty years, led by its founder and musical director Thomas Van Haeperen, Sturm und Klang has been dedicated to the creation and sharing of contemporary music. Behind numerous commissions, the Ensemble and its director are committed to being the most sensitive interpreters of the most inventive voices in Belgian music creation. As illustrated by this double album, Sturm und Klang embarks on a long journey with composers who are already widely recognized, stimulating projects, commissions, and the circulation in Belgium and abroad of a rich collection of works. But Sturm und Klang also stands out for its solid support for the younger generation, particularly by accompanying them during dedicated workshops aimed at resolving practical questions of composition and orchestration. Each Sturm und Klang concert is a celebration of living musical creation, each program proposed is a challenge that today testifies to the taste for risk, overcoming, and the audacity of its musicians, all within a time that primarily poses the simple fact of existing as a bet. "On the edge" is the fragile and tightrope-like position, essential in traversing our time, that all the artists gathered here assume

What would an association of composers be without its interpreters? Since its inception in 2002, the Forum de la Création Musicale has been able to grow thanks to the complicity of musicians with whom it has forged long-term collaborations. The Ensemble Sturm und Klang and its conductor Thomas Van Haeperen, major players in contemporary music in the Federation Wallonia Brussels, have from the outset approached a large number of new works through interpretations whose relevance and precision have proven over the years to be equal to unwavering artistic commitment. The Forum de la Création Musicale and Sturm und Klang have in a way grown together, and it goes without saying that as we celebrate our 20th anniversary by releasing a series of recordings, our association dedicates its first box set to one of its closest partners
